The Reason Why: Firefly

Dad was teasing Mama about the title of my blog here, and it occurred to me that I should explain it a little. The title is my nod to Mama's favorite show, Firefly. It was a really good show that got cancelled a couple of years ago, but Mama owns the DVD set of the series and the movie that came out later, which was called Serenity. Joss Whedon, who produced Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, is the guy who produced Firefly as well. It was a sci-fi series, and it was more grown up than the other two shows. Mama got addicted to the show and used to watch it over and over until Dad got sick of it! In the show, they always referred to the universe as "the 'verse", so that's where I got the title from!

The Human Assistant's son loved Firefly too! He said that because it was good it wasn't allowed to keep going.

We knew where it came from, our daddy has all those DVD's too! And even with those, he'll still watch it on the satellite if he finds it playing....Mama isn't as big on sci-fi as daddy, though she loves fantasy stuff, but she even liked that one.

Yep, my humans watched that show too, have the DVDs and the movie. Unfortunately, it was a great show, great writing, made you think... therefore it was too smart for the majority of stupid humans. Much Like The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. Another smart show that got canceled.

Hi Thor & Friends--

Fenway here....I just came back from my first real dog show and am completely mystified. So many doggies were there and no one would let us play with one another.

Hey! Our human aunt works at Howard and it's a real fine place. Tell your mom, okay?

Our moms like such cool old shows. My mom's one of those old trekkie people. She actually went to trekkie conventions many many years ago, and she even has one of those tribble things.

We wish her luck with the craft thing too! Our mom is gonna try that too. Too bad we all don't live closer and we could open our own shop. That would be sooo husky cool.
